The Gigilo and Ambulance Chaser Are The Richest To ever Run for President

It's wonderful to see my liberal friend (AKA Michael) blogging again on the pages of this blog. I am, however, wondering if the weekend happy hour has started a little early in the midwest--for his last post seems to lack the strong logic with which he tries to explain the utter banality of the hate-mongering left.

You have to wonder what sort of bad drugs anyone quoting Michael Moore must have gotten into--Michael Moore is a fraud, a fat, ugly fraud with an uglier wife who there simply isn't enough alcohol strong enough to even think about at closing time in the meanest bar in Queens. Michael Moore is the Joseph Goebels of this generation--a pathological propagandist who makes money off people either too dumb or too lazy to check facts.

You must come up with something better than republicans are the "party of hate," and the rich persons party .... when the net worth of the new JFK and John Edwards is well over a BILLION dollars--when is subsidized by billionaires--when there is an army descending on New York to cause violence--when millionaire rock stars are giving concerts and air time.

It all boils down to this--hatred of President Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al.

So, the left hates Bush--just be honest

Welcome Back!

Coaltion of Hate gets 48% of vote

Anyone who saw "Fahrenheit 9/11" (and everyone else, for that matter) should keep in mind the single most important scene in it. And this has nothing to do with Michael Moore's opinions or arguments about what's "true". The scene I am referring to is George W. Bush, decked out in white tie and tails, addressing some of the wealthiest people in the world--those Bush called the 'haves' and 'have mores'. Bush said "Some people call you the elite, I call you my base." *laughs from the plutocrats and aristocracy in attendance*

The Republicans have built an interesting coaltion over the past 16 years. They have convinced millions of Americans to vote against their own interests by focusing on hot button issues. And those issues are almost always related to the average American's deep and (sometimes) unconscious desire to punish people they don't like. What do I mean? How many poor people who are losing health care benefits and who now work for minimum wage after their manufacturing job left town will vote for Bush because they like the idea of being "pro life"? I don't know anyone who is "anti life" or even "pro abortion". Thirty percent of pregnancies are terminated by abortion whether it's legal or not. Make it illegal and you won't save any babies--but you will put thousands of women and some sympathetic doctors in prison.

And those angry American voters love to put people in prison. You vote for Bush because you hate Arabs or Muslims, you hate "drug users", you hate "homos"...Face it, if most Americans voted for candidates based upon what's best for them and their families (jobs, schools, civil rights, environmental protection, health care benefits), NONE of you would vote for a party that has $10,000-a-plate dinners where they site around smoking (illegal) Cuban cigars and laughing at how stupid you are and how easy it is to take your money away.

This election is much more a referendum on just how hateful and greedy and easily manipulated your "average American" is than any other issue. The rest is smoke and mirrors and we'll all pay for the really hateful people in America--those who vote for someone because they think he hates the same people they do. And this is how neocons and Republicans get 48% of the vote from poor Southerners, out of work northerners, suburban white men, and all the people who buy into fear and hatred.

First of all--Bravo for Clear Thinking

Nolan Finley writes (below):

"They don't hate us because of our freedom, democracy and capitalism, as President George W Bush repeatedly insists. They hate us because our theology doesn't match theirs. Understanding this may keep us from making disastrous mistakes. "

Even though I stand far to the left of William Webb on many issues (see my next post!), this is where we agree and agree wholeheartedly. My congratulations to Mr. Finley and I hope this article gets published and re-published over and over again until the American people begin to catch on.

Again--BRAVO for clear thinking.

Refusing to clearly identify the enemy makes the enemy impossible to defeat.

by Noland Finley

Word games don't change the facts.

The last thing Nick Berg heard as his head was being sliced off in Iraq were the chants of his executioners, "Allah is great." Same for American journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan two years ago, and for contractor Paul Johnson in Saudi Arabia last month and for the other unfortunates beheaded in this peculiarly sadistic ritual which has become the signature of Muslim radicals.

Allah is great. The chant is mostly glossed over, treated as just another war cry; the Arab equivalent of the rebel yell. But we ignore the religious motivation of our terrorist tormentors at our own risk. This is a religious conflict, not a political one. That's a key distinction, because there's a chance that political disputes can be resolved through negotiation, compromise, and shifts in policy. Settling religious battles generally demands more blood.

The Bush administration has bent over backwards not to associate this war with Islam, choosing to call it a war on terrorism. But that's like calling World War II a war on Zero fighter planes and Panzer tanks, instead of on the fascist states of Germany, Japan and Italy.

The enemy today is radical Islam, an ultra-conservative and extremely intolerant religious movement that has taken root in the Middle East and is fast becoming a beacon for dispossessed and disenchanted Muslims worldwide. Its followers are willing to kill the infidel - everyone who is not them - without conscience.

They don't hate us because of our freedom, democracy and capitalism, as President George W Bush repeatedly insists. They hate us because our theology doesn't match theirs. Understanding this may keep us from making disastrous mistakes.

We cannot quiet this enemy by forcing a settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, as is the compelling wisdom in places like the United Nations and European Union. Nor can we win peace through realignment of our relationships in the Arab world, discarding old friends and choosing new ones. And we certainly can't prevail through appeasement, by pulling out of places where they don't want us to be.

We can defeat terrorism only by recognizing that it is merely a tactic employed by extremists to achieve extremist goals. Our mission isn't to wipe out the suicide belts and car bombs but to wipe out the ideas that drive their zealotry. Doing so will require the cooperation of those who profess to be moderates in the Muslem world. They can't be allowed to continue harboring extremist leaders and permitting their ideas to flourish in state-sponsored schools.

Targeting crude bomb factories and terrorist leaders in their caves is necessary but our targets must also include the radical mosques where the militants are nurtured and encouraged, and the clerics who fuel their hatred.

Getting to that point requires getting comfortable calling this what it is - a war on radical Islam. That doesn't mean a war on all of Islam, just the twisted evil part. Differentiating between a war on terrorism and a war on radical Islam is more than semantics.

Refusing to clearly identify the enemy makes the enemy impossible to defeat.

How The Dems View The Convention

William's note: Here's some intel from the dark side

To:The Kerry-Edwards Campaign
From:Mark Mellman, Senior Strategist
Re:Where Bush-Cheney Needs To Be
Date: August 24, 2004

As a senior strategist for John Kerry, I have prepared this update for the campaign's most active supporters as we enter the crucial weeks ahead. It's clear that your support has put this campaign in such a strong position as we enter a critical period. Your hard work, activism, and contributions have allowed our campaign to match the Bush campaign on the airwaves and on the ground. I can report that all you've done is now paying off when it counts the most.

By any standard, President Bush heads into his convention in a very weak position. His current position stems from the fact that voters judge the incumbent on his performance and on the state of the nation. By this measure, the president is in grave difficulty. To be counted a success, the Republican convention must fundamentally alter public attitudes on President Bush's stewardship of the country.

There are some basic benchmarks by which an incumbent's success can be measured as the campaign heads into the fall:

The average winning incumbent has had a job approval rating of 60%. Indeed, every incumbent who has won reelection has had his job approval in the mid-50's or higher at this point. In recent polling, Bush's average approval rating has been 48%. President Bush must emerge from his convention having dramatically altered public perception of his performance in office.
In recent years, when incumbents have gone on to victory, 52% of voters, on average, said the country was on the right track. Now, just 37% think things are moving in the right direction. Thus, President Bush must convince the electorate that the nation is in much better shape than voters now believe to be the case.
Every incumbent who has gone on to be reelected has had a double-digit lead at this point.
Following their conventions, the average elected incumbent has held a 16-point lead, while winning incumbents have led by an average of 27 points. Bush will need a very substantial bounce to reach the mark set by his successful predecessors.
Incumbents have enjoyed an average bounce in the vote margin of 8 points.
On average, incumbents' share of the two-party vote has declined by 4 points between their convention and Election Day.
President Bush has the opportunity to achieve an average, or even greater, bounce from his convention. Typically, elected incumbents go into their conventions with a 9-point lead, while incumbents who have gone on to win enter their conventions with a 21-point lead. Most current polls show the race quite close. This gives the president substantial room to bounce. By contrast, Senator Kerry entered his convention in a far stronger position than the average challenger. The average challenger goes into his convention 16 points behind, while Senator Kerry entered his convention with a 1-2 point lead. This gave Senator Kerry much less room to bounce.

However, as the data above makes clear, average is not enough for President Bush. Incumbents who went on to win reelection had an average lead of 27 points after their convention. Indeed, the average elected incumbent -- winners and losers -- had a lead of 16 points after their conventions. An average bounce would still leave Bush well below the historical mark set by other incumbents, particularly those who went on to victory.

Perhaps most important, the average elected incumbent experienced a 4-point drop in his share of the two-party vote from the post-convention polling to Election Day. Thus, to beat the odds, President Bush will need to be garnering 55% of the two-party vote after his convention. Anything less than that and the president will remain in grave political danger.

William's note: You have to go to British newspapers (The Guardian) to read this type of opinion

By Mark Steyn

According to Francis Harris in Saturday's Telegraph, allegations that John Kerry "lied about his Vietnam record" are "unravelling". Oh, I wouldn't say that. Right now, it looks like the sanity of the Kerry campaign and its pals in the media that's beginning to unravel.

Switch on the TV these days and you'll see John O'Neill, principal spokesman for the hundreds of Swift boat veterans who oppose their old comrade Kerry, talking calmly and patiently about the facts, citing chapter and verse and relevant footnotes, while some deranged interviewer is going berserk.

The other day it was CNN host James Carville, former skinhead-in-chief to Bill Clinton, yelling and howling all over O'Neill's answers before brushing him aside with, "I've got no use for this man."

Meanwhile, the grandees at the New York Times, having studiously ignored the story for two weeks, decided that, with the Kerry campaign all but paralysed by the issue, they'd have to sully their lily-white hands with the ghastly business and kill it themselves. Maureen Dowd, the paper's elderly schoolgirl columnist, dismissed the dissenting Swiftees as "creepy-crawly", "stomach-turning", "sleazoids".

Pat Oliphant, who appears in the Washington Post and many other newspapers, offered a cartoon showing the Swiftees as Bush-backing deadbeats sitting round a bar bitching: "I never seen Kerry do nothing hee-roic," says one loser. "Damn right," says another. "You and me was right there in latrine maintenance. We orta know."

The redneck spelling's a nice touch, ain't it? I wonder which of the anti-Kerry campaign's 254 Swift vets, including 17 of Lieutenant Kerry's 23 fellow officers, Oliphant thinks were in latrine maintenance. Maybe he's got in mind fellows like Paul Galanti, who appears in the latest anti-Kerry ad and whose plane went down over North Vietnam in 1966. He was held in the "Hanoi Hilton" Viet Cong POW camp until 1973. That's seven years getting tortured by the gooks, only to be mocked by some lame-o cartoonist as a redneck latrine operator.

I've never quite understood the preferred formulation of big-time Democrats – that "of course" they support our troops even though they oppose this war. But in practice they "support our troop" – singular – just Lieut Kerry and the handful of Swiftees willing to appear in public with him. The rest can go to hell and any of 'em impertinent enough to question the Senator are just "sleazoids" wading through their own backed-up latrine. I wonder if the Kerry campaign and its media cheerleaders have really thought this one through.

Nothing the "sleazoids" say about Kerry is as bad as what he said about them 33 years ago in his testimony to Congress, when he informed the world that his comrades – his "band of brothers" – had "personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads" etc, throughout their time in Vietnam.

Unlike John O'Neill's book, he didn't bother to give specifics: the US Army in general was rife with ear-severers. If you want to know why Paul Galanti is appearing in an anti-Kerry ad, it's because he first heard about this speech from his Viet Cong captors who cited it to try to persuade him and his fellow prisoners that resistance was now futile and they might as well cross over to the other side.

I said a couple of weeks back that John Kerry was too strange to be President, and a week or two earlier that he was too stuck-up to be President. Since I'm on an alliterative roll, let me add that he's too stupid to be President. What sort of idiot would make the centrepiece of his presidential campaign four months of proud service in a war he's best known for opposing?

I wouldn't stand for Parliament on a family values platform because I know someone's bound to bring up the 123 gay porn movies I had a bit part in back in Amsterdam in the 1970s.

How cocooned from reality do you have to be to think you can transform one of the most divisive periods in American history – in which you were largely responsible for much of the divisiveness – into a sappy, happy-clappy, soft-focus patriotic blur without anybody objecting? Most Vietnam veterans of my acquaintance loathe John Kerry, and, if he wasn't aware of that, he's too out of it to be President.

That can happen to rich guys, particularly touchy, thin-skinned rich guys who prefer to surround themselves with yes-men. Kerry was apparently infuriated by the cool reception he got from a veterans' audience last week. But why would he expect anything different?

And even if he'd never slimed his comrades, there's something ridiculous about a fellow with four months in Vietnam running as Ike, the Duke of Wellington and Alexander the Great rolled into one. On Sunday, after calling on the Senator to apologise to the 2.5 million veterans he slandered, Bob Dole couldn't resist chipping in his own view of Kerry's wounds.

"Here's, you know, a good guy, a good friend. I respect his record. But three Purple Hearts and never bled that I know of," he said. "I mean, they're all superficial wounds." Dole's right arm is withered and useless from wounds received in World War Two, and he never made a big hoo-ha about it in the '96 campaign.

But, more significantly, Dole prizes bipartisan Senatorial chumminess over almost everything, and my guess is he wouldn't be slamming Kerry if he weren't so revolted by the unseemly showboating of this campaign. If Vietnam vets loathe him, World War Two vets seem to think he's a buffoon. Short of reversing over the last 128-year-old Spanish-American War veteran in the retirement home parking lot, it's hard to see how Kerry could more comprehensively diminish his military support.

Still, he's doing his best. After going around huffing and a-puffing that, if Bush wanted a debate about Vietnam, "Here is my answer: BRING. IT. ON," he's now gone to ground and is demanding Bush call it off. Meanwhile, his lawyers are threatening suits and the campaign's complained to the Federal Election Commission to get the Swift vets taken off air.

His hagiographer Douglas Brinkley, after an intriguing interview with the Telegraph's David Rennie, seems to have entered the witness protection programme. If this campaign were any more inept, Michael Moore would be making a documentary claiming Kerry's a Republican plant secretly controlled by Karl Rove and the House of Saud.

"Islamophobic Prejudice" and CAIR

by Daniel Pipes
August 25, 2004

In the early morning on July 9, 2004, a fire burned much of the Continental Spices Cash & Carry, a grocery store in Everett, Washington, specializing in Pakistani, Indian and Middle Eastern groceries. The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damages but no injuries. On putting out the fire, police and firefighters found a gasoline can, a spray-painted obscenity against Arabs and a spray-painted white cross. Rupinder Bedi, the proprietor of a 7-Eleven next door, told the Seattle Times how he found Continental Spices' manager, Mirza Akram, 37 and a Pakistani, crying and telling him "he had been harassed by some customers earlier this summer [and that] the verbal slurs didn't stop until he threatened to call police."

Further, the Everett Herald reports,

The morning of the fire, the store manager told investigators he feared the fire had been set in retaliation for attacks on Americans in the Middle East. He claimed that the month before, two white men came to the store and became upset when they learned he had been born in Pakistan. They left the store angry.

That was the story. On August 19, however, the police arrested Akram in his store on a federal arson warrant. He stands accused of setting fire to the store to collect insurance on the building and its contents. U.S. attorneys explained in court that mounting financial losses led Akram to stage an arson and then make it look like a hate crime.

Specifically: Akram was in the process of buying Continental Spices from the Z.A. Trading Corp. of Seattle; having already paid $52,800, he owed at least another $32,200. But gross sales at Continental Spices dropped from almost $11,000 a month in 2003 to less than $3,000 a month just prior to the fire, a decline in revenues that apparently made it impossible to make the monthly purchase payment of $640 and rent payment of $1,200.

Wrongly thinking Z.A. Trading Corp.'s insurance policy covered the store, Akram allegedly schemed for months to burn it down. (Ironically, the store was not on the policy.) On the evening of July 8. he met with an unnamed male friend (who has since turned state's evidence) at his home and told the friend how he had poured gasoline inside the store and lit incense above the gasoline, expecting the incense would ignite the gasoline.

Akram allegedly had the friend drive to the store in the early morning of the 9th to see if it was on fire. He called Akram and reported that is was not. Then, about 4 a.m. on July 9, the friend entered the store and dropped burning incense into the gasoline, causing a fire to erupt so fast that it burnt the friend's trousers. He "narrowly escaped" the building without injury.

Phone records obtained by investigators show 11 calls between Akram and his friend between midnight and 4 a.m. on the day of the fire. If convicted of arson, Akram faces up to 20 years in prison.

While Akram is presumed innocent until proven guilty, this tale points once again to (1) the need to treat claims of "hate crimes" with less than total credulity and (2) the unreliability and poor judgment of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Immediately on July 10, CAIR rushed a press release out the door, "Arsonist Torches Muslim Store in Washington," calling on "local and national leaders to address the issue of growing Islamophobic prejudice following an arson attack on a Muslim-owned business in Washington State."

That mainstream organizations persist in treating CAIR as a serious "civil rights" group baffles this observer. What more must CAIR do to make them realize what it is?

Racial Profiling Alleged in Muslim Arrest

Here's a big surprise .... The CAIR and al Qaida advice to turn everything into a civil liberties question arrives from the Baltimore family videotaping the bay bridge

Ironically, both a CAIR and al Qaida Refrain

By KASEY JONES, Associated Press Writer

BALTIMORE - The oldest daughter of a man described as a high-ranking Hamas operative said Wednesday that police used racial profiling when officers stopped her family's sport utility vehicle while her mother made a home video of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

We were wearing hijabs (headscarves)," Duaa Elbarasse, 20, said in a telephone interview from her home in Annandale, Va. "We feel we have been racially profiled since we are Muslim."

Duaa Elbarasse said she, her 18-year-old sister and her 14-year-old brother were in the back seat of the SUV Friday as they headed home across the bridge from a vacation in Delaware. Her father, Ismael Selim Elbarasse, was driving while her mother, whom she declined to name, taped "scenery of the bay and us in the car," Elbarasse said.

Her mother also tried to zoom in on boats in the bay, she said.

"There is no way to avoid the cables, the bridge itself in the pictures," Duaa Elbarasse said.

According to a search warrant for the video, the tape showed cables and upper supports of the main section of the 4.3-mile bridge. The video pans the eastbound span and shows support cables and footings, zooming in on the bridge joints, the warrant indicated.

Three Baltimore County police officers driving on the bridge told Maryland Transportation Authority officials about the vehicle, and that it was driven by someone of Middle Eastern descent, according to court documents.

"The individuals were pulled over because they were videotaping the bridge," and because when someone in the vehicle spotted the officers' car, the woman put the camera down and the vehicle slowed down so the officers would pass them, said Bill Toohey, a Baltimore County police spokesman. "That was the suspicious activity, not because they were Middle Eastern-looking."

Neither Ismael Elbarasse nor his wife were charged with any wrongdoing on the bridge, but Maryland authorities arrested Ismael Elbarasse after discovering a federal material witness warrant had been issued for him the same day in Chicago.

Lesbians Are Our Friends--

For me it was one summer when I was living in Japan .... their names were Pam and Kim .... It was one of the most memorable love affairs of my life .... and I can honestly say -- Lesbians are my friends --- but I digress

The election year craziness is upon us and many of my really-conservative friends are yelling and jabbering like a clique of cocaine-addled Gibbons after Vice President Cheney basically came out and dropped the bomb by suggesting that equality for lesbians and gays only makes sense.

"The fact of the matter is we live in a free society," said Cheney, "and freedom means freedom for everybody. We don't get to choose, and shouldn't be able to choose and say, 'You get to live free, but you don't.' And I think that means that people should be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to enter into."

Isn't it about time somebody on our side of the political fence finally had the balls to say something like this? Isn't that what conservative values really are about--letting people be free from government interference in their private lives as long as their behavior doesn't hurt others?

I'm a heterosexual male and I have never met one lesbian or gay male who I thought meant to do me any harm at all. In fact, some of the most interesting, thoughtful people I have had the pleasure of meeting have been gay. None have ever tried to "convert me over to the dark side of the sexual force," convince me that being heterosexual was a twisted and depraved choice, or suggest the government should monitor my sexual acts however twisted.

I understand deeply religious people's beliefs--and ironically many of the lesbian and gay people I know understand the religious arguments. People have the right to believe what they want.

But if we truly are conservatives and believe in the right of the individual--we need to congratulate the vice president rather than crucify him--and welcome lesbians and gays into the party.

WASHINGTON (August 25, 2004) — A new study from the Center for Immigration Studies is one of the first to estimate the impact of illegal immigration on the federal budget. Based on Census Bureau data, the study estimates that households headed by illegal aliens used $10 billion more in government services than they paid in taxes in 2002. These figures are only for the federal government; costs at the state and local level are also likely to be significant. The study also finds that if illegals were given amnesty, the fiscal deficit at the federal level would grow to nearly $29 billion.

The study, entitled The High Cost of Cheap Labor: Illegal Immigration and the Federal Budget, is on line at . Among the findings:

* Illegal alien households are estimated to use $2,700 a year more in services than they pay in taxes, creating a total fiscal burden of nearly $10.4 billion on the federal budget in 2002.

* Among the largest federal costs: Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs ($1.9 billion); the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion).

* If illegal aliens were legalized and began to pay taxes and use services like legal immigrants with the same education levels, the estimated annual fiscal deficit at the federal level would increase from $2,700 per household to nearly $7,700, for a total federal deficit of $29 billion.

* With nearly two-third of illegals lacking a high school diploma, the primary reason they create a fiscal deficit is their low education levels and resulting low incomes and tax payments — not their legal status or their unwillingness to work.

* Amnesty increases costs because illegals would still be largely unskilled, and thus their tax payments would continue to be very modest, but once legalized they would be able to access many more government services.

* The fact that legal immigrants with little schooling are a fiscal drain on federal coffers does not mean that legal immigrants overall are a drain. Many legal immigrants are highly skilled.

* Because many of the costs are due to their U.S.-born children, who are awarded U.S. citizenship at birth, barring illegals themselves from federal programs will not significantly reduce costs.

* Although they create a net drain on the federal government, the average illegal household pays more than $4,200 a year in federal taxes, for a total of nearly $16 billion.

* However, they impose annual costs of more than $26.3 billion, or about $6,950 per illegal household.

* About 43 percent, or $7 billion, of the federal taxes illegals pay go to Social Security and Medicare.

* Employers do not see the costs associated with less-educated immigrant workers because the costs are spread out among all taxpayers.

Why Legalization Is So Costly. Costs rise unavoidably because amnesty will not change the low education levels of illegal aliens or the fact that the American economy offers such workers very limited opportunities, regardless of legal status. The vast majority of illegal aliens will continue to have very low incomes, and make very modest tax payments. However, legal status would allow them to use many more programs. We know that cost would rise dramatically because legal immigrants with the same levels of education make extensive use of public services. Thus, even though we estimate that average tax payments would rise by 77 percent, we also find that costs would rise 117 percent. To understand why this happens it is helpful to consider a program like the Earned Income Tax Credit, which pays cash to low-income workers. Illegals currently account for only 1.5 percent of the program’s total costs, but if they were legalized their use of the program would grow tenfold because with legal status they would no longer need stolen or bogus Social Security numbers to get the credit. This dramatic rise in cost is not due to laziness on the part of immigrants. In fact, only those who work receive the EITC. The dramatic rise in costs simply reflects the low educational attainment of illegals and their resulting low incomes.

If Illegals Stay, So Will the Costs. To the extent that policy makers have considered the fiscal costs of illegal immigration, they have generally tried to reduce the costs while allowing illegals to remain. But this strategy has not been effective because the average illegal already receives less than half as much in services from the federal government as do other households. Moreover, many of the costs are due to their U.S.-born children, who are awarded American citizenship at birth under current law. Other programs are simply too politically sensitive to cut, such as the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program. And others costs are unavoidable, such as incarcerating illegals who have been convicted of crimes. Conversely, enforcing immigration laws is both popular with voters and administratively more feasible. There are really only two options: either we begin to enforce the law, significantly reducing the number of illegals in the country, or we accept the costs created by the presence of a large pool of unskilled workers.

Results Similar to Other Studies. A 1997 report by the National Research Council (NRC) on the fiscal impact of immigrants concluded that education levels and resulting income is the primary determinant of tax payments and service use, which is also a central finding of this report. The results of this study closely match the findings of a 1998 Urban Institute study. Our estimated average tax payment for illegal households in New York State are almost identical to that of the Urban Institute, when adjusted for inflation. The results of this study are also buttressed by an analysis of illegal alien tax returns done by the Inspector General’s Office of the Department of Treasury in 2004, which found that about half had no federal income tax liability, very similar to our findings of 45 percent.

Debka: Putin’s Sochi Residence Targeted by Hijacked Russian Plane

DEBKAfile Special and Exclusive Report

Russian president Vladimir Putin was faced with a tough dilemma early Wednesday, August 25: to shut down all of Russia’s airports and air space, or clear only the skies over the main cities, like Moscow and St. Petersburg, to prevent a 9/11 type assault.

By morning it was apparent that the two airliners which crashed within minutes of each other after takeoff from Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, one bound for Volgograd the second for the Black Sea resort of Sochi, had been hijacked by terrorists. None of the 89 people aboard survived. Among them were 5 members of Russia’s Federation of Jewish Communities. Both pilots had sent hijack distress signals before their craft disappeared from radar. Russian security service sources, in their first reaction over Russian TV Wednesday, characterized the disaster as typical of al Qaeda’s mode of operation.

DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources believe, in fact, that the Tupolev-154 which blew up in mid-flight near Rostov was destined for Sochi, further to the south, where Putin was vacationing at his holiday residence. The first doomed craft, a Tuopolev-134 that crashed near Bushelaki in the Tula province may also have been originally aimed at a Russian city and not made it.

Putin finally opted to clear the airspace over Russia’s main cities, not the whole country, on the assumption that the two-plane assault was the end of the current terror offensive. He hoped that the announcement of tightened security at Moscow’s airports would put off any more terrorists who might be heading there for further air hijacks. Russian Air force fighters scrambled to patrol skies across the country, armed with unpublished orders to shoot down any identified aircraft, even if it was a passenger plane. In addition, Moscow quietly asked neighboring Ukraine, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to go on counter-terror air alert.

This request found the Central Asian republics well prepared already after receiving intelligence of an al Qaeda cell having infiltrated from Iran to unleash a campaign of violence on the lines of the offensive terrorizing Iraq.

DEBKAfile’s sources add that Russia’s overnight emergency triggered elevated levels of security at the international airports of Europe and Israel, focusing mainly on passenger planes incoming from Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Israel’s Ben Gurion airport security is also carefully screening flights from eastern and southern Europe, Turkey, Hungary and Bulgaria.

The United States too, three weeks after raising terror alerts in New York, Washington and New Jersey over a threat to its financial sector, has also instituted extra-special precautions. American security authorities decided to be on the safe side and act as though the Moscow hijackings were the start of a series in places other than Russia, especially in view of their timing – four days before Chechnya’s presidential election on Sunday, August 28 and five days before the Republican National Convention opens in New York to nominate President George W. Bush as party’s presidential candidate and Vice President Richard Cheney his running mate.

Al Qaeda has issued threats against both events.

US intelligence branches and its homeland defense department have been placed on the ready and air and naval patrols stepped up over and around American cities and seaports.

Putin’s decision may turn out to have been a dangerous gamble. Russia’s vast expanse is dotted with a myriad easy targets including hundreds of small airfields with scant security, thousands of railway stations, river boats and ferries. None are adequately protected against terrorists.

Putin and his security advisers will have correctly assumed that the big cities would most attract the terrorists. But this does not mean that out-of-the-way locations will not be targeted in the coming hours or days – if only in to catch the world’s security services unawares.

Whereas an unknown number of al Qaeda sleeper cells are known to have penetrated the United States and Canada, Russia is hemmed in on all sides by major al Qaeda networks, the largest based in the breakaway province of Chechnya. It is supported by Chechen and Muslim followers who live in many parts of Russia, providing an army of spies and terror operatives already in place.

The terrorists also count on Russian security services’ responses to terror being cumbersome and slow. Tuesday afternoon, a small explosive charge blew up at a bus stop on the road to Domodedovo airport, killing three people. Witnesses at the airport describe the security authorities’ response as hysterical and muddled, which the hijackers must have exploited to slip through to the targeted airliners. The small blast should have prompted the sealing off of the airport and its approaches and flight cancellations for redoubled checks - as would have happened in New York or London. National security services might also have been expected to assume responsibility at Domodedovo from the private firm in charge there, although Russian security is reputed to be so riddled with corruption that terrorists have an easy time operating anywhere in Russia, including Moscow.

Security services in the West are now braced to see whether the double airline attack in Russia is followed by sequels anywhere else

Michael Moore As Prophet?

Here's a great NY Post Editorial

August 24, 2004 -- ACCORDING to the letter to the Hebrews in the New Testament, faith is "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." By that criteria, liberals must count nowadays as among the most faithful people in America.

For example, liberals believe that the police in Florida, at the behest of Gov. Jeb Bush, prevented black voters from getting to the polls in the 2000 presidential election . . . yet they can never quite locate a black voter who was in fact prevented from voting.

Liberals believe that the Bush administration tricked the American people into thinking that Iraq was directly responsible for the terrorist attacks of 9/11 . . . yet they can never quite track down a quote from an administration official saying it.

Liberals believe that the Patriot Act has enabled the government to violate the civil rights of American citizens . . . yet they can never quite produce the name of an American citizen whose rights have been violated under its provisions.

Liberals believe that the Bush administration accuses whoever expresses doubts about the War on Terror of being unpatriotic . . . yet they can never quite cite an instance where an administration official has done so.

Liberalism, in its current form, seems less and less like a political viewpoint and more and more like a religious orthodoxy. Its articles of faith persist in the absence of tangible evidence. Its tolerance of dissent is minimal. And its antipathy towards non-believers is seething.

Why not go the whole nine yards and anoint Michael Moore as its prophet?

You Can Do Your Part For Homeland Defense

Urge Congress to Implement 9/11 Commission Recommendations on Immigration Enforcement and Document Security

Send A Free Fax to your members of Congress today urging them to implement key 9/11 Commission recommendations to correct fatal weaknesses in our immigration enforcement and documentation policies. (Click on the link above then click the take action now box to send this pre-written, editable fax.)
Follow up your faxes with phone calls. (Visit our elected officials section for contact information.)

Congress has held several hearing over the past few weeks to consider the 9/11 Commission recommendations in preparation of legislative action. Among the flaws cited by the Commission as contributing to the tragedy of 9/11 were lax enforcement of our immigration laws and the failure to secure vital identity documents. Tell Congress to implement the following reforms to protect America's homeland security:

Bar federal and bank acceptance of unverifiable consular identification documents, including the Mexican-issued matricula consular.
Increase interior enforcement through state and local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
Suspend the Visa Waiver Program that allows nationals of 27 nations to enter the U.S. without prior screening by a consular officer.
Create federal standards for the issuance of state driver's licenses and identification cards to prevent states from issuing IDs to terrorists, criminals and illegal aliens.
Instruct the Federal Aviation Administration to discontinue acceptance of driver's licenses issued by states that do not require and verify applicants' Social Security numbers for the purpose of boarding commercial flights within the United States.
Issue federal standards for a national birth/death registry database and anti-fraud features to protect Americans from identity theft.
Expedite the implementation of the USVISIT entry/exit system and require data from ALL travelers be collected and entered into the database, including travelers from Mexico and Canada who are currently exempt.
We live in a state of constant threat. It is vital that Congress act immediately to make it more difficult for potential terrorists to get into the country, more difficult to evade detection from law enforcement, more difficult to obtain valid identity documents or use counterfeited documents, and more difficult to finance their operations.

More Hacker Info

Here's more info on lunatic left's anarchist campaign Nuts The FBI Should Know About

Hidden with code "Rated Down"
Announcement :: Protest, Resistance & Direct Action
ProtestWarrior has been HACKED Current rating: -2
by your friendly neighborhood hacker anarchist
(No verified email address) 22 Aug 2004
ProtestWarrior has been hacked today as part of an electronic civil disobedience campaign against Republican and pro-'American' websites.
The following text was placed on the ProtestWarrior website. The website was promptly removed.

Also note that the contact information / passwords of the head protest warriors are listed below. At the bottom of this message is a complete email list of everyone registered as a protestwarrior member. Please utilize the following information. =)

This action was part of a larger hacktivist campaign against the Republican National Convention. Participate in the online sit-in at

Modern day nazis pledging their obedience to the State and the platform of state-sponsored terrorism - neo-fascist ProtestWarriors, you have been HACKED by your friendly neighborhood hacker anarchist =)

Right-wing extremists are modern-day brown shirts who abuse and harass activists who are fighting for social justice while claiming to be in the moral right. By infiltrating and crashing legal, peaceful assemblies, the ProtestWarriors are fighting against the democratic process while claiming to uphold the 'core values of this country'. It is unpatriotic to blindly accept and obey the dogma of the ruling classes, and to lash out at peace activists who are trying to build a better world is intolerable. We're shutting you down.

Operation Liberty Rising is right. The Republicans think that they can rape NYC and the 9/11 attacks to further their political agenda of endless war and breaks for the rich upper classes and multinational corporations. The people of New York are rising up to let them know that they won't be getting away with it. Millions of people in the streets will be shutting the convention down, and your extremist right-wing minority can do nothing to stop it.

We're not fighting to put Kerry in office, and we're certainly not fighting for a socialist dictatorship. We are building a society free from all parasitic ruling classes... Democrats, Republicans, they're all on the same party of capitalism and the state. We dream of a world free from presidents and politicians who exploit us enslave us and do everything except represent us. We've had enough, and we will settle for nothing short of total world liberation for one and all. And we're willing to do whatever it takes to achieve these visions of a free society.

On our way to discovering what we love, we will discover everything we hate, everything that stands in the way of freedom and justice for all.

ProtestWarriors, give up! We have you surrounded and outnumbered. See you on the streets,

Before I go, some fun facts for the whole family: personal details of the head organizers of ProtestWarrior, complete with password information(works with at least the the ProtestWarrior HQ and the ProtestWarrior Forums!)

Electronic Civil Disobedience against the Republican National Convention

ProtestWarrior EXPOSED!

Campaign Website:

Hackers are organizing for a massive electronic civil disobedience campaign against the Republican party to coincide with the massive protests in New York City for the Republican National Convention. This document contains logistical information on how people can participate in this campaign.

We won't stand idly by while the Republican Party exploits the democratic city of New York to further their agenda of endless war, attacks on our freedoms and and breaks for corporations. We demand an end to the so-called "war on terrorism", which is nothing more than a pretext for empire and the erosion of our civil rights. As long as Amerikkka continues to further their war on the poor for the benefit of the rich, we will use all weapons at our disposal to disrupt the RNC - on the streets, and on the net.

All are encouraged to help out this campaign in any way they can. Deface websites, flood email servers, cause financial disruption, change electronic billboards. Turn the system over and put the people on top. Hacktivists of the world, unite!

What will be happening?

August 22nd - Day of online direct action a week before the convention begins. All are encouraged to attack as many right-wing, corporate, government or military sites as possible. Web defacements, email attacks, financial disruption, anything and everything. These attacks will be used to stir discussion of the RNC, encourage people to participate in the protests in NYC itself, and to build for the mainstream electronic sit-in on the 29th.

August 29 - September 2nd - Mainstream electronic sit-in while the RNC is in session. The actions will commence on noon of each day. The protests will utilize a wide diversity of tactics including email, web, fax and phone disruption. The logistical details of this campaign are included in this document below.

Who are we flooding?

The email addresses, fax numbers, and phone numbers listed below are various contacts of the Republican National Committee and the official George W. Bush re-election staff.

Isn't this cyber terrorism?

It is important to make a distinction between electronic civil disobedience and terrorism. Civil disobedience is a fundamental part of the democratic process which our country was founded upon. Like Henry David Thoreau and our revolutionary forefathers who shot up the pigs at Lexington and Concord, electronic civil disobedience is the logical continuation of these theories applied towards the internet as a medium for disruption. ECD is a legitimate protest act.

Terrorism tries to instill fear into people through violence and destruction. Terrorism is not an act of liberation or unity but of division fear and conquer. A bitter act of desperation that solves no problems, makes no statement, and disempowers many. Electronic civil disobedience causes no harm to people or property. Instead of disempowering, ECD tries to bring people together to realize and exercise their power over oppressive governments and corporations using hacking as a means of fighting for social justice.

Who are we?

There is no 'us'. This is a decentralized campaign - there are no leaders or orders or hierarchy. Most of us don't know the other people working on this project. None of us know what sorts of attacks are being planned. This is an autonomous call out, anyone who agrees with what we've said and wants to participate in this campaign is welcome to resist the RNC in any way they can.

This call out is issued by the CrimethInc Black Hat Hacker's Bloc. We are not participating in any of the actions or any illegal activities ourselves. We recognize the political significance of the RNC and realize that one way or another there is going to be some sort of cyber attack. We are simply serving as a press tool to communicate with the media about different electronic methods people are employing to protest the RNC.

This is an autonomous call out for electronic direct action against the RNC. This document contains a number of resources that can help people who choose to participate in such actions. If you decide to help out, you do so on your own terms and accept responsibility for what might happen. However, there is safety in numbers and there are a number of people who plan on a number of actions and there is a very low risk. So hack on!

If you participate...
Let us know what you're up to! We are communicating with the media on this project and we want to post on our website what sorts of attacks are being made. Feel free to rip bits of text from our website, this document, or any other press release we have made and use it in your messages. Make sure to link to our page!

Fellow citizens, PARTICIPATE!

You do not need to be an experienced hacker to help this campaign: we've made it easy for people to help out through a variety of different ways. The mainstream electronic sit-in is composed of several methods of disruption: flooding RNC websites, email addresses, fax and phone numbers. Listed below are the targets and explanations / tools you can use to help this campaign.

We are asking people to use all tools at their disposal to bombard the given servers with so much traffic that it will become unable to serve any more web requests. People can participate in the actions by using the given floodnet scripts on the campaign website or by launching your own distributed denial of service attacks.

The Republican National Convention:

The Republican National Committee:

George W. Bush official re-election site:

You can help flood these servers by going to our website and running the FloodNet tools on our website. There is a web-based tool and several perl scripts that you can use to flood the targets. You can also download and run several denial of service applications on your home machine and point them to the above servers.

A list of good denial of service tools for the Mac is available at Freaky's Mac Archive and Underground Mac

A list of good denial of service tools for Windows is available at

... but denial of service attacks isn't hacking!

DoS attacks are seen as somewhat lame in the hacking community because it does not require any actual skills to perform such attacks - any script kiddie can simply download a few tools and launch attacks against major servers. It can hardly be considered hacking. But it is a method of electronic disruption that can bring the enemy's servers to it's knees. No reason to overlook tools at our disposal.

E-mail bomb attacks are done by sending tens of thousands of emails to the enemy's contact addresses. This can make it painful to send and receive emails while simultaneously consuming server resources, possibly slowing or shutting it down. There are numerous tools that one can use to perform such attacks.

There are a number of Windows email bombers available for download at

A number of good email bombers for the mac are available at Underground Mac.

Fax bombing is a method of electronic disruption that clogs the enemy's fax communications and wastes their paper and toner resources. Tape together a few sheets of black construction paper and start faxing to the following targets. When the first page goes through, roll it back and tape it to the other end of your sheet to form an infinite loop of black construction paper. Then sit back and watch the mayhem begin. Use any and all fax machines at your availability - the more the merrier!

Phone bombing is another method of disrupting their communication systems by preventing them from making / receiving calls. You can either call these numbers and tell them what you think about the Bush agenda, or you can beige box into someone else's line and set up auto-dialing scripts to flood their lines.

That's all for today, kids. Stay out of trouble, and don't get caught!

A Warning from the Tin-Foil Gang

Showing their belief in two-way political discourse, a group of the tin-foil hat wearing loonies is calling on hacking and defacing of republican websites. Here at Don't really get the idea of democracy because, well they are dumber than a pack of wild boars on acid you can read the rest of the story

About John Kerry's 527 Connection

In the growing hypocrisy that is the democratic strategy and hallmark for this election--blogs for bush has this nice graphic that depicts
web of democratic 527 money and connections

Why can't the national media do this type of research on their own?

"Your Grandchildren will be Muslim"

We're back after a long business trip week ... here's a comment from the Jihad Watch comments section that bears reading

The racial and religious bigotry of most of the people posting here is truely astounding. You cheer and rejoice every time another innocent Muslim is persecuted by intolerant Western governments, regardless of the fact that most such victims eventually are released for lack of evidence after the desired media propaganda storm has been stirred up. Furthermore, almost never are the accused Muslims charged with any overt acts of violence. Rather, they are seized for falling afoul of trivial bureaucratic regulations established precisely for the purpose of entrapping the innocent.

Of what foul acts is the evil Muslim Amer el-Maati accused? The answer is none. The American secret police allege that this vile criminal may possess knowledge of the diabolical plans of other evil Muslims. That is all - he is not even accused of any actual crimes.

The road to peace is obvious and wide open. Simply stop warring against Almighty Allah (swt) and stop oppressing and abusing Muslims. There are 1.3 billion Muslims in the world, every one of whom is praying and working to the best of his or her ability to bring about the triumph of Islam. The unbelievers have neither the courage nor the will to long stand against the tide. Embrace Islam now and live in peace in submission to the commands of Allah (swt). Be part of the bright, shining Islamic future, not a forgotten part of a dim, dying past.

Your grandchildren will be Muslim.

Allahu akbar
